Arrival of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to Iraq

Southern province declares a two-day holiday in order to preserve civil peace

The governor of Dhi Qar announced on Tuesday the suspension of working hours on Wednesday and Thursday.

Governor Adel al-Dakhili said in a Facebook post that he had decided to suspend official working hours on Wednesday and Thursday in order to preserve civil peace.

In all of Iraq, more than 340 people have been killed since the protests began on October 1, when thousands of Iraqis, mostly young men, took to the streets to denounce corruption and poor services and demand the overthrow of the political elite. LINK

Governor of Dhi Qar: Excluding bank employees from the holiday

Dhi Qar Governor Adel al-Dukhaili issued a directive to bank employees on Wednesday.

The Governor's Information Office said in a statement that "Dakhili was directed to exclude bank employees from public holidays." "This is to complete the distribution of staff salaries," he said.

The governor of Dhi Qar, on Tuesday, announced the suspension of official working days for the preservation of civil peace. The media office of the governor of Dhi Qar said in a statement received (Mawazine News), a copy of it, the latter declares "the disruption of official working Wednesday and Thursday in order to preserve civil peace."

The governor of Muthanna province, Ahmed Munafi, announced on Tuesday, the suspension of working hours of the province's schools only for Wednesday and Thursday.

"He decided to suspend official working hours in the Directorate General of Education and in the schools of the province only for Wednesday and Thursday," he said in a statement.

He added, "The decision came to miss the opportunity on some malicious people who are trying to attack the institutions of the state, and to maintain civil peace." LINK

Iran: 731 banks burned and riots attempted to blow up the largest petrol depot

Iranian Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli said that the explosion of the biggest gasoline depot in one of the country's cities failed during the recent demonstrations, pointing to the burning of 731 banks, 140 public places, 9 religious centers, 70 gas stations and 34 ambulances.

Rahmani Fazli said in a statement to the first channel on Iranian television, that the bad guys tried in one city to blow up the largest gasoline warehouse in them, and if their attempt was successful to burn half of the city. LINK

Mashat: The need to keep the banking sector from what is happening in Iraq

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Mashreq Bank Sadiq al-Mashat, on Wednesday, the need to spare the Iraqi banking sector from the current events in the country."
