"Memorial Day - A Day to Remember" by Michael Murdock - 5.28.18

Entry Submitted by Michael Murdock at 5:28 PM EDT on May 28, 2018

Today, Memorial Day is a day of REMEMBRANCE.

Remember those who gave their lives so that we could all enjoy the freedoms that we have in this country. This is not a happy day, it’s a solemn day. People treat this day like Veteran’s day and it’s not. This is a day to remember those who died for our country and for our freedoms so that we can be here to remember them and celebrate their lives.

I was blessed to meet someone today, who was crying, sitting in their car. I approached them and asked why they were crying. They said they were homeless living in their car. I had to steady myself enough to tell them they’d be ok, that life would come back for them because they were worthy of receiving.

I was on my way to put gas in my car, called AAA for them, and gave them the money that I was going to use to fill my tank with so that when AAA helped them, they’d be able to get some additional gas to help them on their way. They cried and said THANK YOU, It’s amazing that you’ve given when you have so little.

I could feel the holy spirit in my heart keeping me breathing because sometimes it’s so difficult to keep going, but I know that I shall survive this and that when some miracles happen in my life I will be able to have my own home and still be able to help so many others.

I hope all of you have had a blessed weekend. I wish for you much success this coming week. I wish for all of us that the RV comes soon so that we can spend our days helping others out of their doldrums and getting them moving in a positive direction.

It’s 100 degrees where I am now and I am keeping in the shade until night falls and praying that a cool breeze blows this night so that I can stay cool. You’re in my prayers always, please keep me in yours.

God bless & Much love️ & peace to all.
Michael Murdock, US Navy Veteran, homeless
