"Request on Yosef's Look Back Post" by (Anonymous) - 8.8.17

Anonymous, you hit the nail on the head with this one. Thanks for being courageous and sharing your truth. I feel the same. All the male role models and relationships I've ever had have taken the back seat when it comes to financially supporting a family and being the traditional male role. It makes me frustrated, angry, and confused. In my world, women always do it all. Make money, take care of the kids, the house, plan everything. And what do the men do...?

Being born in the 90's, I have no idea what it was actually like back in the fifties...but some parts of it sure do sound appealing, given what I've witnessed in this life in terms of gender roles. There just doesn't seem to be a role these days for women who want the traditional role of a woman. We long for strong men, we're not finding them, and since we need to carry on and support the family structure, we become the strong men and it burdens our spirit. I feel really really strongly about this and I've had to think on it A LOT just to be sure where my heart really lies on the issue because it surely doesn't fit into the typical feminism movement model.

Maybe the resurgence of the divine feminine means men take the supporting role by SUPPORTING women and the family so that we again have the freedom to express our highest feminine nature by nurturing relationships and building community. I surely don't see the resurgence of the divine feminine as women needing to step up and become the new masculine, in some sort of gender role reversal. At least that's not where my heart is.
