Wells Fargo Continues National Purge in Philly

Wells Fargo shakes up Philly bosses in national purge

Updated: JULY 31, 2017 — 1:02 PM EDT

Wells Fargo has continued cutting as it recovers from its accounts scandal.

by Joseph N. DiStefano, Staff Writer @PhillyJoeD | JoeD@phillynews.com

Wells Fargo & Co., the dominant bank in Philadelphia and other major metro areas, has made good on its June promise to become more “streamlined, effective, and consistent” by laying off 70 senior managers and naming new ones in the nation’s largest branch bank network.

Among other changes, Wells Fargo is breaking its Philadelphia-area and Delaware region into four smaller markets, with new bosses:

“Greater Philadelphia,” headed by Joseph Kirk, includes 87 branches in Philadelphia, eastern Montgomery County and Lower Bucks.

“Delaware Valley,” headed by Lauren Tobiassen — 64 branches in Philadelphia’s western suburbs, the Brandywine Valley, and the state of Delaware.

“Greater Pennsylvania,” headed by Ivon Creagh — 67 branches in the Lehigh Valley, the Poconos, and nearby areas.

“Central Pennsylvania” headed by Laura Haffner — 62 branches in the Reading-Lancaster-Harrisburg-York area.

Brian Formisano will run 67 New Jersey branches from Trenton south.
