"Tonight's Word: And The Oscar Goes to..." - Heisenberg - 6.17.17

Entry Submitted by Heisenberg at 11:23 PM EDT on June 17, 2017

To protect the sheep you gotta catch the wolf, and it takes a wolf to catch a wolf. - Training Day

I drink your milkshake! I drink it up! - There Will Be Blood

Brokeback got us good, don't it? - Brokeback Mountian

They all want to be better Nazis than Hitler. - The Pianist

I don't think anything bad ought to happen to children. I think the bad stuff should be saved up for the people whose grown up. That's the way I see it. - Sling Blade

You're like a blind man, in a dark room, looking for a black cat that isn't there! - Stand And Deliver

I'm a free man, and I'm going out the front door. - In The Name Of The Father

And that brings us to tonight's word: AND THE OSCAR GOES TO...

Here's the nominees for the Best Actress in a Leading Role:

Daughter of Terra in Coal Miners Daughter

Roseisstillarose in I Never Promised You A Rose Garden

Twinklestar in Mary Poppins

TPAO in The Devil Wears Prada. and

DR. WC in Sister Act

And the Oscar goes to.............Dr WC in Sister Act. This is Dr WC's first nominee and first Oscar win.

Long story short, there's just not alot of proof in Zimland. There's a lot of puzzle pieces (half the pieces are missing) but there's not a lot of tangible proof served to us on a silver platter. There's a lot of back and forth. There's alot of taking sides. There's alot of "discernment gone wild". OWK's posts get countered by RTC and Phillip and it all gets pretty confusing. We just don't know. It's almost incestuous in a way. Like a disfunctional family that's full of lies and honesty. But without solid proof, all we have are the arguments of the plantiff and defendant in a good dreams. The acting of all these thespians who have spent years, decades, centuries perfecting their crafts. And us voters in the Academy are on our own to pick who we feel deserves to take home the Oscar gold. It's a very subjective decision. It's not an exact science and it kinda wears you down if you're not having fun with it. And what is a masterpiece for one, could be rotten tomatoes for another. American Beauty is in the eye of the beholder..boom.

Remember when Yosef started to ease us into the true value of the Zim? I'm sure that pissed alot of people off. "These toothless crackheads have no idea of where to even start with a trillion dollars. Might as well give a ferrari to a high school freshman." But what do we always hear was his reasoning? "I love you enough to tell you the truth. I love you enough to let you decide for yourself how to decipher the intel." And this morning, I got a revelation that OWK is taking a page out of that playbook. He loves us enough to give us this uncomfortable intel so we can use that left handed monkey wrench called discernment and fix our own carburetors. Yosef came to us to inform us of the ZIM and the importance of surrender. OWK came to us to inform us of the rat infestation. Honestly he was the perfect pick for the job. Stamina. Fearlessness (with a pinch of revenge?). I mean who's going to call out Quin Yin as the NSA? You? Me? I'm not that connected, to tell you the truth. I know this is all a bit much to take for some, but isn't a cool sextillion sitting in an asset backed bank account as well? All gurus tend to get lambasted at one time or another. But that's the price of getting out there. But it's the true leaders who don't back down.

"If you're looking for a fight, I'll find you one." - Larry Mullen Jr.

For all the dear Intel providers, and no one is immune, a prophetic quote from my main man Thurgood Orenthal Stubbs aka Super once said, "Heavy is the hand that holds the plunger."

Seriously tho, so many of you are doing great. You're reading the daily posts and picking apart those articles pretty good. A little too good...hmmmm. Someone might be out of a job soon. I say this to the familiar faces at Paddys (where everybody knows your name) and not the first timers who suspiciously pop in with an obvious agenda. To the chosen ones who are going to be tomorrows leaders. Now, I'm not going to try to persuade you one way or another towards or against my way of thinking. My mind is not 100% made up about anything (except that God's love for me is infinite). My mind is like a whole wheat blueberry, pecan pancake recipe that can always be a little better. It could always have slices of bananas. Or 100% Vancouver maple syrup. My current beliefs are like a meandering river that shifts it's path over time. A river does not stay in a linear path forever. It will meander into a S curve as water erodes the outer banks. A river also picks up stones and breaks them down into smaller pieces down the line. So someones words or posts may enter your head as a stone today, but as you process and discern it, it may fall out of your stream as something totally different. New information may change your course. New experiences may change your course. A quadrillion USN may change your course. A guru who puts their neck out for you, may change your course. I just want to say I'm proud of everyone's discernment being as sharp as an axe. Strong with this pub the force is. Perfect temperature the Guinness will be. Can you hear the song on the jukebox? It's the music of a people who will not be slaves again. When the beating of your heart echoes the beating of the drums there is a life about to start when tomorrow comes.

Welcome back to the 2017 Academy of Zim Awards. And here's the nominees for the Best Actor in a Leading Role:

Bruce in Bruce Almighty

Fisher in The X-Files: I Want to Believe

Victor in Young Frankenstein

Tank in Training Day

Gerry in Jaws

Heis in Swingers

Zap in Mississippi Burning

Yosef in Life Is Beautiful

One Who Knows in The Unforgiven

And the Oscar goes to...

And that's the word.

"You Never Can Tell"

It was a teenage wedding, and the old folks wished them well

You could see that Pierre did truly love the mademoiselle
And now the young monsieur and madame have rung the chapel bell
"C'est la vie," say the old folks, "it goes to show you never can tell"

They furnished off an apartment with a 2-room Roebuck sale

The coolerator was crammed with TV dinners and ginger ale,
But when Pierre found work, the little money comin' worked out well
"C'est la vie," say the old folks, "it goes to show you never can tell"

They had a hi-fi phono, boy, did they let it blast

700 little records, all rock, rhythm and jazz
But when the sun went down, the rapid tempo of the music fell
"C'est la vie," say the old folks, "it goes to show you never can tell"

They bought a souped-up jitney, was a cherry red '53

And drove it down to Orleans to celebrate their anniversary
It was there where Pierre was wedded to the lovely mademoiselle
"C'est la vie," say the old folks, "it goes to show you never can tell"

They had a teenage wedding, and the old folks wished them well

You could see that Pierre did truly love the mademoiselle
And now the young monsieur and madame have rung the chapel bell
"C'est la vie," say the old folks, "it goes to show you never can tell"
