"Staff Thoughts" by Jeff - 6.14.17

Entry Submitted by Jeff at 3:56 PM EDT on June 14, 2017

Dear IDC Family,

I have been thinking about benefits for our near future staff on humanitarian projects --

1) It would be best to work only 7 hour days. So 35 hours/week for most equals "full-time".
Unless one is a super busy project manager, then 40+ hours are fine.

2) If they are "independent contractors" then they can write-off their cars, office in the home, etc.
Of course, all that is changing with the new tax system to be announced.

3) We could offer to pay their future taxes, so their wages are full take-home pay.
Starting at $20/hour and upward depending on responsibilities.

4) They could also work by-the-hour: the more they work, the more they earn.
We could have flexible hours too. Keeping accurate time-logs with descriptions of work.

5) We would still want to offer "group health insurance" rates.
(Even though I don't believe in allopathic medicine for maintaining health, just for emergencies)

6) We could offer 5-10 days paid vacation/sick day time per year for full-time staff.

7) We would offer an annual $10,000 retirement bonus deposited directly to a 401K account.

We will hire young people, to get their "input" on how to make this world a better place.

We could also hire retired persons with business experience and humanitarian hearts.
Some could work at home, or provide a desk for them to work from.

I would meet individually with each staff person weekly, to go over their past progress and future focus.

I would also let that staff person suggest ways to help others, so they can lead with "their passion" as well.

That's all for now,
Jeff
