International2017/06/07-12:14 Abo Mehdadi the Engineer

Abo Mehdadi the EngineerThe next two days will mark the end of military operations and the liberation of the entire west of Mosul, deputy chairman of the People’s Assembly, Abu Mahdi al-Mohandes, said Tuesday.

According to the Tasnim international news agency, Abu Mahdi al-Mohandes said that the crowd would be working to catch the entire Iraqi-Syrian border, noting that they await the orders of the Prime Minister and Commander-in-chief of the armed forces, Haidar Alabadi, to break into and liberate Tall Afar.

“The destruction of the post that the people’s forces were able to liberate and completely cleanse is the last citadel of the criminal organization of ISIL,” the remaining small areas will be liberated within the next two days. ”

“The next two days will mark the end of the military operations in the west of Mosul and the announcement of the full liberation of this region, except for Tall Afar, adding that” the forces of the crowd await the orders of the Prime Minister and Commander-in-chief of the armed forces, Haidar Alabadi, to storm and liberate Tall Afar. ”

“The forces of the People’s Republic of China will work to keep the entire Iraqi-Syrian border in the coming days,” the engineer said, adding that “a section of the border is controlled by the Syrian Kurds.”

MrsClassy: Prominent Islamic State leader killed in western Mosul

by Nehal Mostafa Mosul (IraqiNews.com) A prominent Islamic State leader was killed in western Mosul, Kurdistan Region Security Council’s Counter-Terrorism Directorate announced on Wednesday.

In a statement, the directorate said, “according to information received, a terrorist called Ahmed Hashim Hamid, known as Abu Hammam, was killed over the past few days in western Mosul.”

The militant, according to the statement, “is the second man in the IS’s so-called ‘Sharia Diwan’.”

The directorate did not refer to whom killed the militant.

Earlier on the day, Federal Police said 34 IS militants, including a leader called abu Baraa al-Tounsi, in charge of explosives manufacturing workshops in the Old City, were killed during armed confrontations on al-Zanjili district in western Mosul.

Earlier this week, the troops said they aimed again at the strategic Old City from the southern entrances, reopening an old front after they have been sweeping through northwestern neighborhoods over the past few weeks in a way to invade the strategic Old City, where the group’s supreme leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, declared the establishment of the group’s rule in Iraq and Syria in 2014 at Grand Nuri al-Kabeer mosque.

The eastern side of Mosul was retaken in January after three months of battles. Another major offensive was launched in February to recapture the western flank of the city.

MrsClassy: Gunmen kill 5 Islamic State members west of Mosul
by Mohamed Mostafa

Tal Afar (IraqiNews.com) Unknown gunmen killed five Islamic State militants at an enclave which is still under the group’s control west of Mosul, according to a security source.

The source said in a press statement, reported by Waradana news website, saying that the gunmen were boarding three pickup trucks attacked an IS checkpoint in central Tal Afar.

The attack threw the militants into confusion, but they did not take any action attackers since many of their superior leaders had already fled the town, according to the source.

Islamic State militants have been losing personnel and ground since Iraqi government forces, backed a U.S.-led coalition and paramilitary troops, launched an offensive in October to retake the city. Forces recaptured the eastern side of the city in January and are close to totally recapture the western side.

Occasional reports have been made about anonymous attacks targeting IS members inside and outside Mosul since the launch of the offensive, especially at Tal Afar, where the group has reportedly been struck with divisions and infighting over leadership and field defeats.

IS has been holding Tal Afar since 2014, and paramilitary troops, Popular Mobilization, have cleared most of areas around the enclave near the Syrian borders, and occasionally announce they await government orders to invade it.
