Grandfather and the Warrior
The Lakota warrior sat across from his teacher, a fire blazing between them. The battle was set for the next day. His teacher, Grandfather, spoke first: “I would not think less of you if you walk away from this battle. Here is what you need to realize. If most of the people are invested in being asleep and not caring a wit about the truth, who are you fighting for?”
“Yes, I’ve been thinking about that,” the warrior said.
“You might be better served to focus on that part of yourself that is the teacher. You teach through your stories, your writing. You teach by entertaining people and intriguing people. This way, those who want to know will find you.”
“I understand.”
“You see, you, out there riding alone, armed only with the arrow of truth, are not very good odds in your favor. You have honor, and in a battle like this, honor becomes a handicap, because they have none.”
“I understand.”
“When you walk into a battle armed only with the truth, and with the consciousness of humanity invested in not knowing, you cannot awaken those who are deeply, deeply asleep.”
“Yes, I understand.”
“Just know that there are factions across space and time, councils of truth and light. Join with them, these armies of light workers. People automatically turn away from things that make them fearful. They turn toward things that inspire them, and make them feel that change is possible, that healing is possible that redemption is possible. Everything comes from a place of inspiration. Align yourself with those who stand for the light. Don’t let your mind focus on the facts. Those are earth plane facts. We are not interested in the earth plane realities if we want to change them. We must deny earth plane realities and claim the spiritual truth we wish to create.”
“I understand, Grandfather.”
“The truth for many people is not their higher power and you cannot force them to see the truth, to look at it. So you have to put out a spiritual truth, that it is a positive loving universe and that every miracle is possible.”
“Yes, that makes sense.”
“Focus on what you want to create, not what you want to fight. The spirit that moves through all things does not fight. Where do you see conflict in the spirit that moves through all things?”
There is none.
