ERBIL — A prominent official from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) has slammed the latest deal between Erbil and Baghdad through which the Kirkuk oil is agreed to be exported via the Kurdish oil pipelines, demanding the central government to stop the approach. Hero Ibrahim, a leading and influential PUK member and spouse of the former Iraqi President Jalal Talabani, has sent PM Haider al-Abadi a letter dated August 19th, in which she urges the central government to halt jointly export of Kirkuk oil by Erbil and Baghdad.

“The revenues of Havana and Bay-hasan oil fields was not spent fairly and transparently in the Kurdistan Region, and the people of Kirkuk have been denied petrodollars,” reads the letter. However, the reaction, according to the letter, is because Ibrahim believes they were not consulted about the agreement despite their security forces protecting these oil fields. “I urge you to positively respond to this letter wishing five days, otherwise we will be having no choice but to take other measures available,” Ibrahim explains, threatening that they may prevent the flow of the Kirkuk oil exports.

Late in August, the governments of Kurdistan Region and Iraq reached an agreement to jointly export the Kirkuk oil through the Kurdish oil pipelines to Turkey’s Ceyhan port, and share the revenues between Erbil and Baghdad. Meanwhile, PUK itself is being accused of using Kirkuk oil for its own interests. Kurdish MP Sherko Jawdat previously said that tankers carrying Kirkuk oil continue going to Iran through Sulaymaniyah province, which is PUK’s area of military and political influence.

Iraqi parliament to discuss today the withdrawal of confidence from the Minister of Finance

Baghdad Aktham Saifuddin

September 8, 2016

What awaits the Iraqi street will lead to political and deals dialogue on the dismissal of the Kurdish finance minister, Hoshyar Zebari . At a time when sources revealed for the inclusion of the vote on the dismissal within the day's agenda, favored the deputies of the hearing and not achieve a quorum failure, while a parliamentary bloc revealed a deal led by the former prime minister, Nuri al-Maliki, to settle the matter.

A parliamentary source said, for "the new Arab", said that "the Presidency of the Parliament included the subject of dismissal within Zebari today's meeting agenda," noting that "the inclusion of the vote came to satisfy some of the blocks, which is pressing in this direction."

For its part, the MP suggested for the "rule of law", Hanan al, not to hold a hearing that day and failed to record straight.

Fatlawi said, in a press statement, said that "the political blocs to be able to break the quorum of today's meeting again for not sacking Zebari, courtesy of the President of the Kurdistan region, Massoud Barzani."

She added: "boycott sessions to no end, for the sake of the eyes Zebari," according to its expression.

In turn, MP from Sadr's bloc, Riad Ghali, that "the head of state law, Nuri al-Maliki, pushing in the direction not to vote on the dismissal Zebari."

Boutros-Ghali said, in a press statement, said that "some of the interrogations witnessed by the Parliament was marked by political in nature, but at the same time is not without its career, which produced a split parliamentary significant within the political blocs and the deputies," explaining that "the parliament today is divided on three axes, third with the reform, and a third with a personal gains, and the last third of adopting dealmaking. "

He added that "the subject of questioning and the dismissal Zebari income within the axis of political deals, like the years that preceded, in an attempt to cover up the files of corruption," noting that "This transaction enters the head of the" coalition of the rule of law "Personally, what put MP questioned, Haitham al-Jubouri, in trouble, after collecting signatures for the dismissal of the minister, and he found himself in front of pressure, "rule of law". "

It is noteworthy that Kurdish officials continue their efforts to prevent a vote on the dismissal of the Minister of Finance, after parliament voted last week on a lack of conviction on Bojobth corrupt files that have been raised against him, and were able to thwart the day before yesterday and not achieve a quorum meeting.

"

He explained Abdullah, said that "the Kurdish community has been suffering since 2014 until the day of the non-payment of salaries due to a dispute over oil revenues between Erbil and Baghdad, the Democratic Party is in control of these imports, which controls the oil policies fully, the federal government headed by al-Abadi, rather than trying to correct this track and deal with the plight of the Kurdish people's humanity and patriotism we find Mr. Abadi to deal with this issue through the partisan divisions within his own party and confined his dealings with a particular party and not with all the political parties in the region. "

He added that "the people of Kurdistan is no longer able to bear more of the consequences of the lack of salaries and the continued theft of oil revenues, in addition to Almtarkh policy of Abadi with the people of Kurdistan and the handling of the narrow horizon with a particular party without the cares of the presence or absence of transparency or equitable distribution of oil revenues ".

"We are facing a new academic year and the educational process at risk, health institutions also threatened to stop working, and there is migration of academics and owners of experiences and competencies in Kurdistan, it has extended the strikes to hit the security forces, and the benevolent parties to intervene rapidly to end this crisis, especially as the wrath of explosion street Kurdistan could lead to a situation out of control, it is not ruled out that the spark to move the rest of the provinces of Iraq, which has suffered the scourge of rampant corruption in the joints of the state. "The time has come to put an end to control oil revenues through a commitment to the law of the 2016 budget and dealing with the problem of the region salaries as affecting national security."

And between that "it is shameful to Abadi, yet only only through television to accuse a specific destination in Kurdistan as the reason for the lack of agreement on resolving outstanding issues between the province and the center problems, but behind the scenes is consistent with the same side on the Kirkuk oil without asking himself you going this proceeds to the employees' salaries or into the pockets of family and personal partisan figures.
