"Re: Romans 12:19" by John - 6.15.17

"Romans 12:19" - GCR/RV Biblical Quote(s) - 6.15.17

First of all, i want to confess that I've been among the biggest critics regarding some of the information that's been provided by the likes of "Yosef" and, while there's a lot that has been said that hasn't worked out in the fashion that it was stated, I must still say thank you for remaining consistent in relation to what you see as the "end result."

I'm writing this because, it's very telling, to me, in a spiritual sense that, with that consistency, along with the declarations and, expectations from the likes of Tank, Bluwolf and, others, the closer we get to the manifestation of this blessing in our lives, it seems there are people I know who are suddenly and vehemently on the attack of what these "intel" providers are saying. I put the word "intel" inside quotations because, so much of what has been said, in the eyes of us who are merely reading it, simply, hasn't been made apparent to us. That, in and of itself, may be an understatement to say the least but, never the less, I can see a pattern here that I've discovered in my own life.

You see, it seems, just about the time that I've expected something "good" to happen in my life, there's always been something else that occurs in such a timely manner, so as to cast doubt on what I was hoping for and, I give thanks the the Lord for opening my eyes because, I believe that it's only in maturing in Christ, that we're able to begin to see the strategies of the enemy to our souls. There's a good reminder, for us found in Ephesians 6 that not only warns us of this but, explains the solution. In verse 12 we read, "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." and I believe that, it's in the realization of this truth that, before he even mentions it in his letter, Paul tells us in verse 10 and 11, "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil."

What are "the wiles of the devil"? How can recognize them for what they are? Well, I've found the answer for me and, I believe, if the eyes of your heart are open, you may be able to see clearly what I'm saying. Let me begin by saying that it really is very simple but, in saying that, you can expect, especially if you have preconceived notions about whatever is happening, wrapping your head around this is going to be anything but easy.

The best way I can explain it to you is in how I began to see things from from the point of view of it being a "military strategy." In that light, if you're a believer in Lord Jesus, just as I learned as a boy, you're in the Lord's army and, just as Paul told Timothy in 2nd Timothy 2: 4,

"Soldiers don't get tied up in the affairs of civilian life, for then they cannot please the officer who enlisted them."

In fact, when you begin to recognize how your enemy works and, where it is that he chooses to attack, you'll start learning just how this "whole armor of God" is capable of getting you through any battle. You see, we are called into battle but, what does God say about "the battle"? It's His! Now, if you want, you can fight it on your own but, God shows us through "types and shadows" in what we call the Old Testament that, He goes ahead of us into battle and, all He's asking for you and me to do is to trust Him and, show up on the battlefield. Now, showing up on the battlefield, He expects us to come prepared...right?Similar to showing up on the football field. If you're not a benchwarmer, you kinda need your helmet, don't you...and, the rest of your equipment? The same is true in the battles of life...so, we put on the whole armor of God, we show up on the battlefield but, why? If the battle belongs to The Lord, why can't I just sit in the grandstand and watch until it's all over? The answer is, so God can give you the victory and, in giving you the victory, knowing it's in His live for us that He does so, we turn to Him and give Him all the glory, honor and praise.

Where this all began for me this morning, was in reading the referenced scripture from the post...Romans 12: 19. In the New Living Translation, it says it this way...

"Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, "I will take revenge; I will pay them back," says the LORD."

If you think about it, the spirit of that, matches up very nicely with how God goes ahead of us into our battles...that, by faith, we trust God and, by the time we even arrive on the scene, even though it may appear the battle is ongoing, it's already won. In the same fashion, after the battle, any retaliation or, other attempts the enemy may make to draw us back into a skirmish, we're to walk away...we already have been given victory.

Then, you say, "But John, I'm on my way to the battlefield now. How can I take hold of the kind of hope that you seem to have?" Well, I'm glad you asked. Again, I'm not saying that this is easy but, it's none the less simple and, I'll begin by asking you a question. You're on your way to the battlefield...you're actually still reading the owners manual for the "armor" that you're putting on and, you're nervous. Here's my first question. What are you hoping for? My second question is, do you trust God? Now, as long as what you're hoping for matches up with what God wants for your life, the rest is very simple and, you ask, "but, how do I know if what I'm hoping for, is God's will? You can know that, simply by confirming what you hope for with what His Word tells us and, we could talk about the fruit of the spirit, the truth that we're made righteous and, how the burden of being worthy was taken on by Christ Jesus on Calvary's Cross. Are you beginning to get the picture? So, back to my first question...and, understand, we're not talking about wishful thinking, here. The question is...What are you hoping for? You see, it's in what we're hoping for that we find all the right stuff because, "Faith is the substance of things hoped for." Hebrews 11: 1

Now, does it matter who it is whose speaking the words, if what they're saying, at least partly matches up with what you're hoping for? Does it matter what their opinion is, or the way they see all of this transporting, if the end result is exactly what you're hoping for? We may not like the way they went about it and, if it's different from how we think it should have been done, if it doesn't go against God, are we going to be any less blessed, other than having our feelings hurt because our opinion was wrong? You see, if the blessing is somehow diminished because, we may have been shown that our idea of how things should be was wrong, then, we've taken a position that doesn't belong to us but, belongs to Christ Jesus at the right hand if The Father. Scripture says, "Humble yourself before the Lord and, He will lift you up." James 4: 10

Well, I better bring this to a close and, thank you Patrick, for publishing this...but not for any reason except that it may be an encouragement to anyone else out there who is sitting on the edge of their seat, expecting out blessing to manifest.

in Christ,

John
