"Once Upon a Time" - Hope for the World - 6.24.17

Entry Submitted by Hope for the World at 1:54 AM EDT on June 24, 2017

Once upon a time I made a friend under the MOST unusual of circumstances.

This friend was funny and super smart, a little bit stubborn, but his heart was as big as Texas.

He laughed, a lot. Because he refused to take himself or this whole currency thing too seriously. He knew how he fit into this picture – and he is a big player, to be sure – but his beautiful and humble heart kept him simply and sweetly grounded. Before he was a big player in the political-slash-currency world, he was a good man, a good son, a good husband, and a good father.

That came first.

Always.

Family first.

Always.

And he loved to fly.

This friend of mine loved every moment of airtime he could possibly carve out, whether it be some dilapidated little old Cesena, or a shiny red helicopter, or whatever aircraft happened to be available at whatever airport he happened to be at, at whatever time, this man loved to fly.

Btw, two dimples on his cheeks and another one on his chin belied his boyish joy for life. There was no hiding his exuberance, his curiosity, and his effortless charm.

I would see him up there, gliding along on whatever current he was drawn to. And sometimes he would say hello in a language that only pilots know.

And I loved that. More precisely, I cherished that.

But then that day came. And I truly despise that word “but.” Because the word “but” is the demise of the human condition. I won’t elaborate on this since it has all been said before…but suddenly there was that “but” day.

And then everything changed.

Stuff stopped making sense.

Things were being said that were so left field, so out of nowhere, that I – well, at first I got mad. And I think this is normal. You think you know someone and things are going along so smoothly and then one day all of the sudden alakazam out of the blue things are 180 degrees out.

What the heck is that?

That’s rough.

And I got defensive.

Who dares to come after someone I cherish? Someone who he and I have spent lifetimes together carefully working to bring about this ultimate fruition? Someone I couldn’t be closer to if God himself hadn’t paved us together as two bricks?

Yet, here we are.

I have two things left to say.

1) To Dinarland, or Currencyland, or Zimland, whichever one fits you best, the finest of the finest of “trolls” have been playing you for the past few weeks and it is really up to you to wise up and carry the banner from here on out. If you have survived this trial, this war, up until this point, you need to know that the very best of the very best in deception have been saved for you here in the end. Trust your heart.

2) If there is anyone out there who truly believes they can rip my brother from me, I pity you. My revenge is nothing but a wisp of peace and compassion. But behind me…

Best wishes,

Hope for the World
