"It's a Wrap" - Peoples Dinar News Discussion 6-4-17

Jeffusa: Counterterrorism: 4 km. All that remains is to touch the right of Mosul

03-06-2017 03:03 PMThe Euphrates - The spokesman of the anti-terrorism apparatus Sabah al-Nu'man, the killing of 120 terrorists from a health advocate, which was recently liberated in Mosul.

Al-Nu'man said in a press statement that he had lost 120 of his elements during the battles to liberate al-Hayah district on the right side of Mosul. Adding that the counterterrorism forces are waiting to meet with the federal police and rapid reaction forces and the Iraqi army from the north to complete the closure of the siege on the old city, indicating the survival of an area does not exceed three or four square kilometers under the control of the organization in Mosul.

"The big challenge facing the forces in Mosul is the presence of a large number of civilians in narrow areas full of small and open houses, in addition to the infiltration of the terrorists and most of them are foreign civilians, and they are fighting to kill.

Noeta: I'd be very surprised if they "weren't" fighting to kill.

Deepdivinman: 4 sq.km or 1.54 sq.miles or an area approx. 3/4 mile by 3/4 mile.

Analigizer Bunny: Even in Iraq, 1.54 square miles is exactly 1.54 x 1.54 miles. It will be down to 3/4 x 3/4 of a mile soon enough, or 3/4 of a square mile.

Hairyturtle: Wow go get them boys

Creed123: Baaj appears to be liberated now. Some serious fighting there last night

Mosul (IraqiNews.com) At least 100 Islamic State militants were killed as Iraqi troops recaptured another district in western Mosul on Friday, Iraqi troops have declared.

“The group lost 120 militants during battles on al-Sihha district in western Mosul over the past few days,” Brigadier General Sabah Noaman, spokesperson of the army’s elite Counter-Terrorism Service, said in press remarks adding that CTS troops awaits meeting with Federal Police’s Rapid Response troops and army at the northern region to fully besiege the Old City.

The total area controlled by IS is less than three-four square kilometers, Noaman said without setting a date for end of military operations.

On Friday, Lt. Gen. Abdul Amir Yarallah, head of Nineveh Operations Command, said CTS liberated al-Sihha al-Oula district.

As the district is freed, IS now has only two remaining districts of al-Shifaa, al-Zanjili and parts of the Old City.

In western Nineveh, Iraqi troops started digging trenches that stretch along regions that were liberated last week.

Iraqi forces have been sweeping through northwestern neighborhoods over the past few weeks in a way to invade the strategic Old City, after finding it hard to invade from the south.

The eastern side of Mosul was retaken in January after three months of battles. Another major offensive was launched in February to recapture the western flank of the city.

WRJCJ1: IS controls less then 3/4 square kilometers. My calculation says that is less then .46 square square miles. I can walk that far in just over 9 minutes. I think IS is in " BIG " trouble if that is correct !

Ms. Biz: yeah I do agree, it's a wrap, that is coming.......... B) great days ahead.
