I agree with the premise, we NEED TO DO SOMETHING..... NOW, but we can not just package up a "Standard American Diet" from our toxic food system, and throw it at the world hunger/starvation problem. We MUST teach them how to grow some things for themselves and provide all the guidance and assistance to help them get started. We must teach them to purchase, as much locally as possible, as this means JOBS for them, to take care of their own community while they create/provide SOME of their own FRESH - ORGANIC - REAL FOOD, just like all of us, in the U.S. are going to have to be involved in creating!
For that to happen, they need experienced people to help set things up. Address the immediate needs of water, shelter and medical care. At the same time giving them high quality, ORGANIC, simple to acquire (mostly just money to purchase and provide shipping) nutrition packed "food" that will sustain their bodies and heal their souls.
We need many suppliers of ORGANIC high quality superfoods, produced and handled in ways that retain their nutritional values. They can be combined and if treated with care to preserve enzymes, can create super high nutritional value Smoothie/Shakes. There are such products and companies involved in endeavors with superfoods like CamuCamu - Highest levels of Vitamin C in ANYTHING - lots more than ORANGE JUICE. http://www.sunfood.com/food/camu-camu/camu-camu-powder-100g-3-5oz-organic-raw.html
I want to put a company together that will acquire these superfood ingredients. Then when we give additional nutrition sources ( fresh fruits/veggies) while we remain hyper conscious about the nutritional NEEDS, it will be easier if we provide the bulk from a powdered food that will give them all the basics i.e. high protein plant sources, high mineral and vitamin content also concentrated, in plant sources that reach back thousands of years in experience.
I have been experimenting with some of these products for myself over the last 14 years. I have ways to make them taste very good. The body does not have to work hard to digest the nutrition, it's a pretty great way to handle someone in a super weakened state of health/malnutrition.
We can't just run around willie-nillie like headless chickens. We will have technology coming that will help with creating food, but how long distribution of it will take is unknown and not allowed to be problematic. We know the technology exists - we have to get it into the hands of the people. So we need to plan on a decade at least. If it all changes in six months - then we get to switch gears. NO PROBLEM!
The big thing to remember here is that we are growing communities! places where we really know our neighbors. We all watch over the youth, contribute when and how we can. While we make/do what our heart desires, write stories, sing songs, paint, draw... we get to pursue happiness!!!!! We will be FREE!!
We want to help so much it aches!! But working together, as I read earlier this evening, really makes sense. Our job, to find organizations with Good Reputations, review financial statements to be SURE they are more than just WELL KNOWN (ie. Red Cross) but how well did they use the funds for what they were intended to be used for! Did 90% of donations go to the cause or the infrastructure??
Our money will speak very loudly for what we believe. Let's set the bar VERY HIGH! Only quality organic food for everyone. Community creativity. Community gardens.
Let us all remember that our every thought, word and deed changes the world around us and thus the world. Let them all be about love and service to others.
FROM each according to his ABILITY,
TO each according to his NEED.
Namaste is an ancient Sanskrit understanding that says, "I respect the place in you that is of love, of truth and of Light. When you are in that place in you, and I am in that place in me then we are one."
