"RE: Best Place to Buy ZIM" - Guest Post by Anami

Entry Submitted by Anami at 10:14 PM EST on December 1, 2016

I realize that you will gather information and make your best decision. My offering is simply one point of view, not me telling what you should do.

I have bought all of my ZWR (the trillions series, the third of the four different currencies that Zimbabwe issued: ZWD, ZWN, ZWR and ZWL; see https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banknotes_of_Zimbabwe) on eBay. I have not received ANY counterfeit or fraudulent notes from any transaction.

I am fully diversified and have 2008, 2009; Series AA, AB and AC (Agro Cheque), and I bought uncirculated and circulated. I bought a number of 50T (trillion), plus 20T, 10T, some billions and some millions. I bought some 50 thousand notes to give away, telling neighbors my belief was that they should be worth $50,000 eventually.

When I searched eBay, I sorted results by "lowest cost plus shipping" and then compared buying, say, one 50T versus two 20T and a 10T. Basically, I shopped for lowest price. Once I established the bottom cost, I looked to see how much it cost to get it sooner. I have gotten notes on eBay shipped from the "Lower 48", Hawaii, Canada, Thailand, China, Israel and elsewhere. You might pay 10% more to buy from somewhere closer. Some of these purchases came with markings or wrappers showing they were from Banknote World, but I never wanted to pay premium prices. I bought based on bottom dollar and always got exactly what I expected.

Blessings and bonne chance (Good luck), mon ami!
