I have been reading posts regarding whether to bless people with stipulations attached or to let them have the money and do what they will with it. I would like to bring 1 more thought into this discussion.
My current job is one that works with very poor people. They are not quite homeless but nearly. Living in extreme poverty. I have learned that poverty has its own culture and carries with it what I call a "heart of poverty" meaning if their income increases they still feel as though they live in poverty. I have thought through how to break this heart issue and see only one way. It's by giving back. Paying it forward. Helping someone else out. And teaching them to do this too.
When I first got into this currency exchange the motivation for it was to " retire in style". Once Yosef started bringing his wisdom to the table I realized this was a much bigger picture. It held purpose. This was about becoming a world changer. And growing people. But in order to do that we needed guidance. Teaching us it wasn't "about us". It's about others. Use your money to bring change for people that are hurting. That are hungry. That are sick.
I don't think it's wise of us the hand over money without handing over the wisdom. And thank goodness that it has taken so long for this RV/GCR to come about because had it happened a few years ago we would have had a very different motive for our money.... at least most of us would. I am not saying micromanage what you give, I'm say prep people for the gift with wisdom as we have had to great opportunity to be prepped. Don't give it to them and walk away. Guide them in giving back. Help them understand their role in the world. Teach them what the REAL value of having money means..... and that will break their heart if poverty if they learn that lesson. Because once you start giving, it's no longer about living in poverty, but rather living in abundance. And that means abundance of the heart. Giving will become a way of life rather than trying to find an excuse not to give back because they are just too poor.
See this " gift from God" this blessing is about more than changing the world with money. It's about changing hearts of poverty to hearts of abundance. And that.... is honestly our gift. We get to have money to use as a vehicle, as a tool, to change the HEART of the world!!! From one of selfish greed to one of giving to each other in all circumstances. Well that right there is a huge huge project. And that is the project that we have been actually given.
It is your money to do with what you want. But think of the lessons you have learned going through this. Is it fair that the people you choose to give gifts to don't have any guidance? That seems a set up to fail. Teach them. Guide them. Grow them. Help them change their heart of poverty to a heart of abundance. Those lessons will be greater and better the whole world not just the individual. Have a blessed season as we enter into it!
