Pain is expressed in pain! It has become practice to measure pain by numbers. The triage nurse asks, "on a scale of 1 to 10 describe your pain."
By observation, the pain level of many in dinarland must be OFF the charts. How long can a human being "bite the bullet"?
As A mother, I have experienced a soul splitting degree of emotional pain as one of my own rebelled and denied my affection. In hind sight, I remember handling the long term event the best I way I thought was appropriate. I had not caused the child physical pain, but my words, that were meant to get my daughters attention, cause a painful amputation and life long distance into our relationship. Time heals, breaks down a few walls but the rubble and scars of any disastrous event can remain eternal reference points.
One person's statement can become catastrophic to one or to man, just as the pointed, critical or demeaning comments of many can topple the strongest leader or implode the most bonded community. Our words speak beyond the black and white page; they can pierce, or they can heal.
Not totally separate from the RV, it is imperative to realize that "people called to bless" understand that blessing begins from the heart.
In order to be a blessing, the heart must be called upon before "all" communication. If the heart is damaged, then it must be healed. In a healed condition, our words can become effective weapons for peace as well as a healing ointment. Our responsibility lies in what we need to do to assure that the purpose of our words are for blessing. K
