"Humanitarian Projects" - Guest Post by Pam

Entry Submitted by Pam at 1:38 PM EDT on October 12, 2016

I have never posted here, so let me start by saying THANK YOU to all who share their positive energies, thoughts and beliefs. I learned long ago to "take what I need and leave the rest", and this is how I approach my intel here.

Yes the rv has been called many times, and still we wait. But what I know to be true is we have a limitless God, and one who is all love....this is ordained of Him, and I pray those who don't see that begin to open their eyes to the true picture.

Thank you also for this humanitarian thread, it makes my heart smile to read so many wonderful ideas that all come from a place of love.

As for me, there is the obvious plan of blessing many family members, friends, and just people in general as they cross my path. Hell, just yesterday a customer mentioned her car taking a crap and how she feared the repair cost. She ended by saying, "God is good, it will work out."

Note to self, she needs a new car and will receive that and more! This thought process will no doubt become the "new norm", and it is an honor to be a part of it.

Homeless shelters, soup kitchens and food pantries have been on the firing line long before this blessing, and they deserve to be hydrated.

Fresh food, blankets, coats, hygiene items, updated equipment. Whatever they need and or want will be supplied in abundance on a regular basis. New beds and fresh paint have surely been on the bottom of their list far too long now.

Organizations dear to me heart like the make a wish foundation, Ronald McDonald house, and St. Judes will be blessed greatly as well. They have been selfless charities with proven track records that I personally seen in action.

Both these lists will surely increase, but those are a few things I know will be immediate.

My big dream if you will is to build a couple compounds for young people who are at risk for drugs and crime, or already in the system as a result. One in the city, and one here in the mountains as they will all flourish in the environment best suited for them.

I am a recovering alcoholic and addict who was out there "doing me" for over 30 years. It was all I knew!

At 43 years old I never knew I had choices, drinking and using had been my solution from the age of 12, and anger was an immediate reaction to problems and people.

By the grace of God and a well known 12 step program I will be celebrating 5 years sober this January and I have a life I never imagined.

Peace and serenity were certainly never words that could describe me, and yet today they do. :)

My life still includes problems and working hard (at a job I would love to quit) to survive. However, I am genuinely happy and blessed everyday. This is what I want young people to have. A SOLUTION!

Many jobs will be created, and many people who also have a strong sobriety can be financially blessed for simply sharing their experience strength and hope with these young people. Being a mentor, a friend, a new and wonderful extension of family.

I want these kids to have a sense of family and purpose, while learning how to cope with life on life's terms. That love and tolerance of others will in turn allow them to stop the battle raging within.

They will have their own rooms that can be decorated to their own individual personality. Their dreams will be encouraged, their hope restored.

Should they want to go into college, they will. Above all else, regardless of their background, they will all know that they have a home and family who loves them. A place that is safe and loved ones welcoming them. Holidays filled with memories they never imagined on their best day. :)

Many may stay and become another member of "the staff" that is eager to teach through love, but all will know that they matter....and that God is truly all that is good despite what their childhood may have showed them.

Yup, this is my new reality that I long to be a part of. :)

Thanks again to all that choose to share encouraging words and Intel here.

See you on the other side,

Pam
