I just wanted to share a great source of independent raters for the Financial Industry. This source will become useful later once you have funds that you yourself need to invest. Weiss Ratings is like the "Consumer Reports (R)" of the Industry. They analyze all United States Banks, Credit Unions, Insurance Companies, Stocks, Mutual Funds, and ETFs with honest grades (A+, A, A-, B+, B, ...). You can also set up a Watchlist of your favorites, so as to be notified in real time of any changes in their ratings. Weiss Ratings can help you make wiser decisions with whom to use or buy from. Their website is: https://weissratings.com
In my preliminary research for safe, no-risk savings, it looks like Insurance Companies offer the best interest rates, and Credit Unions offer slightly better rates than Banks. If you want to mix no-risk, low-risk, or other-risk levels, I would still recommend referring to Weiss Ratings first, to see how stable or safe the companies are. They only recommend dealing with the best A and B grade companies though. Plus, they will warn you months in advance, which companies are doing poorly, unlike other rating companies.
Hope that helps, best wishes,
