"When Things are at their Worst" - Guest Post by Upward Success

Entry Submitted by Upward Success at 7:27 AM EDT on August 25, 2016

Aloha Yosef,

Good morning!

To begin, please allow me to ask you a question. What begins with trials and ends with praise?

The Psalms. The Lord told Abraham to not be afraid as he would go through difficult times. Job took what was said about him and did not allow such to affect him; he only allowed the Lord to judge him…not man. Yes, the Lord gave us the Bible and Psalms within to help us through when we are at our wits end.

Fortunately and unfortunately there are basically three types of persons in this world.

  • Proactive. Those who make things happen.
  • Reactive. Those who react to what happens.
  • Those who wonder “what in the hell happened.”
Yosef, we do thank you for being Proactive…which is like the point person leading a patrol through the jungle. Leading from the front does leave one more vulnerable…the ones following are dependent and trust their leadership. As we near the end of the RV/GCR journey, everyone, especially leaders such as you should remember that ‘when things are at their worst one must be at their best’. If a leader caves in and retreats into the shadows, everyone else will begin to retreat. Leaders cannot allow negative persons to continue shaming others to retreat further into their personal abyss.

God will shine a light. In fact, please look around and you will find He has already done so. You have been blessed with a child who will teach you so much more as you strive to see that they unfold to become who they will become. Also know you have been blessed with people like myself who want to continue loving you for ‘who’ you are because they like who you have become.

It is hard to find the right words to comfort someone who is hurting. Just know there are thousands who like who you have become and desire you continue to portray your proactive best. I pray you continue to lay it all on our Lord during what must be sleepless nights because

He promises to never leave you…or us. He will wrap his arms around you and fill you with even more grace. Knowing my prayer will be answered because He is faithful to us, I lastly pray you rejoin the journey today and continue to be proactive and lead us as we continue to forge ahead.

Prayers and blessings,

Upward Success
